Terms of use

Last updated 14 August 2026

nitur is a small, independently run service. These terms are deliberately short, and say plainly what you can expect and what is expected of you.

The service

nitur counts page views for sites you own and shows you aggregate statistics. You are responsible for the sites you add and for having the right to place the tracking script on them.

Your account

Sign-in is handled by GitHub or Google. Keep that account secure — anyone who can sign in as you can see and delete your data.

One account per person or organisation. Do not use the service to collect data on sites you do not control.

Acceptable use

  • Do not send fabricated traffic, whether to inflate your own numbers or exhaust the service.
  • Do not attempt to attribute collected data to individuals, or combine it with other sources to do so. The data is designed to make this impossible; trying anyway is a misuse of the service.
  • Do not use another site’s tracking token, or place your script on sites you do not control.
  • Do not attempt to access data belonging to other accounts, or to disrupt the service for others.

Requests are rate limited. Accounts that abuse the service may be suspended or removed without notice.

Availability and data

The service is provided as-is, with no guarantee of uptime, accuracy, or retention. It runs on a single database instance with scheduled snapshots — adequate for its purpose, but not a system of record. Please do not depend on it for anything where losing the data would matter, and export anything you need to keep.

To the extent the law allows, liability for any loss arising from use of the service is excluded.

Ending it

You can delete your account at any time from your account page, which removes your sites and all collected views permanently.

The service may be discontinued. If that happens, reasonable notice will be given so you can export your data.

Changes

These terms may change. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision; continuing to use the service means accepting the current version.
